Going Digital & 3D Printing
We are delighted to bring you this new Short Course. Open to Orthotists who want to understand the digital process, improve their shape capture skills and maximize the benefits of 3D printing for their patients.
Date and Time: Thursday 20th February 2025
Course description:
This 1-day face to face short course offers participants the opportunity to learn about the entire digital end-to-end process. From shape capture to rectification and design to manufacturing the final 3D printed device. During the course participants will learn about all 3D Printing technologies, our research and development projects and the benefits of 3D
printing. take part in practical sessions on scanning with both iPads and iPhones and casting techniques with E-Cast and C-Form tube. Following this there will be demonstrations about digital rectification and design.
Aims:
The course will give participants confidence in new shape capture techniques and a
detailed understanding of 3D printing.

Our Vice-Chair Pam Coulton attended the British Polio Fellowship Meeting in London to support the great work the Fellowship does advocating for those affected by Polio. Orthotics plays an important role in supporting people affected by Polio.

Vacancy – BAPO Membership & Events Administrator
The British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists (BAPO) is the professional body for people working in prosthetics and orthotics in the UK. BAPO exists for our members and so providing them with high-quality support is very important, we have a small team who are home-based but in the Midlands area that focuses on member support and professional development through education courses and events.

The Membership & Events Administrator will provide high-quality administrative support to BAPO while providing membership support and assisting in the planning and delivery of events such as our conferences.
Employment type: This role is part-time, 18 hours per week, for a fixed term of 2 years subject to funding and the postholder’s performance.
Location: Home-based in the Midlands area with some travel to meetings and events.
Salary: £26,775 pro rata.
